As announced in this poston Reddit, Aisekai is definitely shutting down their activity. The decision was taken because of troubles they had with their current sponsor.

WHAT IS AISEKAI?
Aisekai became quite famous in the AI Character's world for being on of the most uncensored and cheapest platforms to offer this kind of service. Aisekai's users could use the platform to chat with different kinds of personalities generated with AI technologies. People had the chance to create whataver AI Character they wanted: from a friend to hang out in moments of loneliness to an authentic AI Girlfriend.
The Aisekai team did quite a good job in capturing user's attention as they reached about 300.000 registered users and they were experiencing a high-growth phase.
THE NSFW ISSUE
Just a few weeks ago Aisekai's team created shocked its users publishing this Open Letter where they basically announced that the platform would have started to apply some sort of content restrictions.
Rumors and protests immediatly rised from their users and followers, in particular on Reddit. People felt betrayed by Aisekai's team since they used to sell themselves as uncensored platfotm that would've let them free to indulge in their fantasies without any judgement.
As the Aisekai's team explained in the letter, the choice was forced by some of the Aisekai's sponsors that required them to shift towards SFW contents in order to grant them the funds they needed.
THE SHUT DOWN DECISION
It seems that from the time of their Open Letter things took a down turn for Aisekai: their users were deeply disappointed by the increasing level of censorship the platform was applying. This situation, apparently, had also implications on the relationship between Aisekai's founders and their sponsors.
As explained in their shut down announcement, the decision they made was mostly due to a "misaligned vision with their current sponsor". Apparently Aisekai's founder did not agree at all with letting NSFW contents behind.
With their current business model, that was way far from being profitable as many similar platforms, a sponsorship was the only way to keep operations running. So the choice of shutting down Aisekai was almost obliged.
WHAT'S NEXT?
Aisekai's founders announced that they are already working on a new platform that is supposed to come back to the origins of Aisekai, welcoming NSFW. The main question at this point may be if the team will be able to not repeat the same mistakes they did with Aisekai. How are they going to keep themselves in the business without a sponsoer?
Eventually we'll have to wait and see what happens to get an answer to this questions.
